Giovanni Pernigotto

Associate Professor

Free University of Bozen-Bolzano

Giovanni Pernigotto received his master’s degree in management engineering in 2009 and his PhD in Industrial Engineering in 2013 with the distinction of “Doctor Europaeus”, discussing a thesis entitled “Evaluation of building envelope energy performance through extensive simulation and parametrical analysis” at the University of Padua. He is currently Associate Professor in Building Physics and Building Energy Systems at the Faculty of Engineering of the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, where he teaches courses on high performance buildings, energy efficiency, and lighting design part of the study programs of the bachelor’s in industrial mechanical engineering, the Professional Bachelor in Wood Technology, and the Master Degree in Energy Engineering. His research ranges from the characterization of the thermal behavior of the building envelope to the study of the energy performance of buildings and the quality of the built environment, including urban-scale analyses for the definition of energy policies. He is author of more than 140 publications in international and national scientific journals and conferences.
